TÜRKÇE

My current work is concentrated on musical preferences, individual and social functions of music, and music, gender, and sexuality.  I have done research on the underlying dimensions of music preferences, which has been a popular topic since the beginning of the 2000s, and the role of music in expressing and subverting gender.  Click for articles and conference presentations

Memory and thinking is an area that I have been working on, mostly in collaboration with graduate students.  Within this area, I have concentrated on issues related to false memory among other other aspects of memory and cognition.  Click for articles and conference presentations

I have done research on topics related to music perception during my graduate studies and the early years of my career.  The main subjects of this research has been perception of harmony (especially priming effects) and perception of rhythmic structures.  Click for articles and conference presentations
